Erin and Jason - Wedding

Erin and Jason's big day was the last wedding of 2014 for me. Held on a hot December day only a few days before Christmas, it was also, without a doubt, one of the most heartfelt. From the moment I first started chatting to Erin I knew she and Jason were going to be wonderful to spend the day with. Erin has an infectious laughter and happiness that makes you feel like you're the funniest person on the planet. A gravitating warmth that draws you to her. Who can blame Jason for falling so madly in love? I suspect she had him at 'Hello'.

Their intimate nuptials were celebrated at the very special Harvest Cafe. I've long been a huge fan of this delightful restaurant which provides excellent food amongst the storybook, hinterland village of Newrybar, NSW, so I was pretty excited about having the opportunity to photograph their wedding here. The location, the venue, and the people did not disappoint. Erin and Jason's wedding was emotional and raw (they kissed and hugged repeatedly throughout the ceremony) and I could see that every guest was of special importance to them.

Needless to say this wedding capped off a wonderful photographic year perfectly. Thank you Erin and Jason for welcoming me into your lives on this fabulous day, I loved every moment.

Leanne and Sam Wedding - Preview

Last weekend I had the pleasure of photographing two completely different yet equally beautiful weddings. And oh my goodness the weather! On both days it was absolutely perfect afternoon sunlight, I couldn't have asked for better.

Whenever someone remarked about how glorious it was I would usually mention how only a few weeks earlier I photographed a wedding in a cloud. Not just rain, but a cloud. You couldn't see beyond a hundred metres or so and it just happened to be a record cold day for August. I personally had not experienced anything like it as a photographer.

Through the weather something miraculous was created though. For Leanne and Sam it meant turning their entire wedding plans upside down and rising above the challenges. But it also meant the world outside was made to disappear and guests were placed in a situation that brought everyone so much closer together. Despite the technical challenges of working in 'extreme' conditions it was one of the most fun and enjoyable weddings I've photographed to date. Leanne and Sam had me laughing all day and the insanity of the scenario just turned us all a bit silly. In a good way.

I'm very much looking forward to sharing the wedding of this wonderful couple with you.

Enchanted Garden

OH, what a garden it was, living gold, living green,
Full of enchantments like spices embalming the air,
There, where you fled and I followed--you ever unseen,
Yet each glad pulse of me cried to my heart, "She is there!"

Roses and lilies and lilies and roses again,
Tangle of leaves and white magic of blossoming trees,
Sunlight that lay where, last moment, your footstep had lain--
Was not the garden enchanted that proffered me these?

Ah, what a garden it is since I caught you at last--
Scattered the magic and shattered the spell with a kiss:
Wintry and dreary and cold with the wind of the past,
Ah that a garden enchanted should wither to this!
