Annie and Andre

This was a quiet wedding which took place only two days before Christmas last year. Of the twelve or so people participating in the post-ceremony lunch, two were born here in Australia. Including me.

What I love the most about these images is that they reveal that no matter who we are, where we come from, how old we are or how we meet, we all love, laugh and enjoy the company of those dearest to us in pretty much the same way.

Photographing this wedding was a turning point for me. It was one of the last pieces in the process of actually launching this site because it helped me to really understand what my photography is about and the kind of photographer, particularly when it comes to weddings, I wish to be. The photos I loved most from this day were not of glamourous gowns, fancy shoes or a big church. The photos I valued the most are of those intimate moments shared between friends and loved ones.
