This photo was taken somewhere between Byron Bay and Mullumbimby, Northern NSW. When I was very young, we rented a little shack nearby. It is still there, just off to right of the trees.
It was photographed using Ilford HP5 with a Nikon F5. It has had no editing, yet the grain of the film has added a wonderful textural feel to it. The grain in HP5 can be a little intrusive at times, but here it has worked beautifully with the texture of the trees and the mottled road.
One day I will use this location as a back drop for a newly married couple on their wedding day.
I already know how it will look.
